Beyond Egypt’s pyramids and pharaohs, Africa was home to advanced with rich cultures, scientific knowledge. In West Africa, early civilizations like the Nok culture (around 1000 BCE) created sophisticated iron tools and remarkable terracotta sculptures long before many European societies learned ironworking.<br /> Farther south, the Ife and Benin Kingdoms produced detailed bronze and copper artworks that demonstrated incredible artistic skill.
