99.1 JOY FM

Broadcasting across the Greater St. Louis region, 99.1 JOY FM offers a dedicated contemporary Christian music format. The station, licensed to Clayton, Missouri, transitioned to its current identity in July 2010, evolving from its origins as KFUO-FM, which first signed on in 1948 with Christian radio programming before moving to classical music. Operating as a non-commercial, listener-supported entity, JOY FM distinguishes itself by providing at least 55 minutes of commercial-free music per hour. Beyond its main frequency, 99.1 JOY FM utilizes HD Radio technology to deliver additional programming, including an HD2 subchannel broadcasting a Christian CHR format that simulcasts BOOST 95.5, and an HD3 subchannel offering conservative talk under the "NewsTalkSTL" brand, re-broadcast via translator 101.9 K270BW. The station's programming focuses on promoting faith and community through music and uplifting conversations, with studios situated in Des Peres.
