RTÉ Radio 1

Signals sweep across the Irish Sea coastline, covering Dublin Bay, the Wicklow Mountains, and westward across the Shannon basin to the Atlantic headlands of Galway and Kerry. Terrestrial coverage reaches rural towns and urban centers through a coordinated nationwide FM transmission corridor between 88.0 and 90.0 MHz, complemented by digital relays via Three Rock Mountain and Clermont Carn.

Weekday mornings center on rigorous journalistic output, led by flagship morning news coverage alongside current affairs analysis, business bulletins, and weather updates. Daytime schedules combine investigative reporting, human-interest features, cultural discussions, and long-form radio drama. Specialist weekend slots present traditional folk selections, arts criticism, historical documentaries, and live coverage of Gaelic athletic fixtures.
