
Home of Metal presents At The 1 in 12 Club, a story of liberty, equality and solidarity rooted in Bradford’s radical heart. Founded in 1981 by the Claimants Union, the 1 in 12 Club emerged as a self-managed, member-run social centre offering affordable entertainment for Bradford’s unemployed community. Built on anarchist principles of co-operation and mutual aid, it quickly became a vital hub for DIY culture. 1 in 12 is more than a building, it is a living community committed to collective action and social change. This podcast series (with accompanying publication) paints a portrait of the Club through reflections from those involved across four decades.
