The 10 Best Hit Songs of 2026 So Far: Ranked Top 10 List

2026's ten biggest hits so far, ranked by weeks at No. 1: Ella Langley, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and more, with song facts and Top 40 stations to hear them.

The 10 Best Hit Songs of 2026 So Far: Ranked Top 10 List

Monthly and seasonal roundups capture a moment. This list looks at the whole year so far. As of the Billboard Hot 100 dated October 10, ten artists have reached No. 1 in 2026, and one country song has rewritten chart history. Below is a numbered top 10 of the year's biggest hits, with the artist, the song and the facts that matter for each one. We also point you to Top 40 and chart radio stations around the world where you can hear this kind of hit live.

How We Ranked 2026's Biggest Hits

Every song on this list reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 during 2026. The Hot 100 ranks the best-performing songs in the United States. It combines physical and digital sales, radio airplay impressions, and audio and video streams, with data compiled by Luminate.

We ranked the songs by total weeks at No. 1 in 2026. When songs tied, those still featured on current Billboard hit playlists came first, and the rest followed in the order they reached the top. Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" opened the year at No. 1 on the January 3 chart. We left it out because it is a holiday holdover, not a 2026 hit. For a snapshot of earlier months, see our March 2026 roundup of the world's biggest songs.

The Top 10 Hit Songs of 2026 So Far

  1. Ella Langley – "Choosin' Texas"

No song has dominated a year like this one. "Choosin' Texas" first reached No. 1 on the February 14 chart, then kept coming back. By the chart dated October 3 it had logged 24 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1. That makes it the longest-reigning chart-topper in Hot 100 history, passing Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You." Its longest run started on July 4 and lasted through the summer into autumn. Langley is also the only artist to reach No. 1 for the first time in 2026. She has a second current hit as well, "I Can't Love You Anymore" with Morgan Wallen. For more songs in this style, explore country radio stations.

  2. Bruno Mars – "I Just Might"

"I Just Might" is the lead track from Bruno Mars' first solo album in nearly 10 years. In January it knocked Taylor Swift's "The Fate of Ophelia" off the top spot and held No. 1 on the January 24 and January 31 charts. The song got a second boost when the album The Romantic arrived. On the March 14 chart, Mars topped both the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 at once. Three weeks at No. 1 put him second among this year's chart-toppers.

  3. Taylor Swift – "The Fate of Ophelia"

Swift began 2026 at the top with "The Fate of Ophelia" on the January 10 and January 17 charts. Billboard reported that the song became her longest-leading Hot 100 hit as a solo artist, passing "Anti-Hero." It is the first of Swift's four No. 1s this year. She is the only artist with more than one 2026 chart-topper, and she has six total weeks at No. 1.

  4. Drake – "Janice STFU"

Drake took over in late spring. "Janice STFU" reached No. 1 on the May 30 chart and stayed there on June 6. Its two weeks at the top give Drake the fourth-highest weekly total of any artist in 2026, behind only Langley, Swift and Mars.

  5. Taylor Swift – "I Knew It, I Knew You"

This song comes from the soundtrack of the 2026 film Toy Story 5, and it debuted at No. 1. It was Swift's 15th Hot 100 chart-topper, which set the record for the most No. 1 singles of the 21st century. It is also only the third No. 1 hit from an animated Disney film, after "A Whole New World" from Aladdin (1992) and "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto (2021). It is the first ever for Pixar. The song led the June 20 and June 27 charts and still appears on current Billboard hit playlists.

  6. Olivia Rodrigo – "Drop Dead"

"Drop Dead" reached No. 1 on the May 2 chart and ended Langley's April run. It remains a playlist staple months later, along with another Rodrigo track, "stupid song." Of all this year's one-week No. 1s, it has had the most staying power.

  7. Ariana Grande – "Hate That I Made You Love Me"

Grande's chart-topper arrived on the June 13 chart, just one week before Swift's Toy Story 5 song debuted at the top. Its time at No. 1 was short, but the song is still listed among the most-played Billboard hits, so it ranks above the other one-week No. 1s.

  8. Harry Styles – "Aperture"

"Aperture" took No. 1 on the February 7 chart, between Bruno Mars' January run and Ella Langley's first week at the top. That busy stretch set the pattern for the year: new releases kept breaking through, and "Choosin' Texas" kept coming back.

  9. Bad Bunny – "DTMF"

Bad Bunny led the Hot 100 on the February 21 chart with "DTMF." It is the only Spanish-language artist entry on this year's list of No. 1 artists. It also shows how far Latin music now reaches into mainstream US charts. If you want more of this sound, chart stations in Latin America are a good place to start (see below).

  10. BTS – "Swim"

"Swim" was No. 1 on the April 4 chart. It briefly interrupted Langley, who returned to the top the following week. That makes BTS one of the ten artists to top the Hot 100 in 2026, and it gave K-pop a place in a year otherwise led by US pop and country.

Honorable Mentions

Two more Taylor Swift No. 1s narrowly missed the top 10 under our tie-break rules:

  • "Opalite" reached No. 1 on the February 28 chart.
  • "Patient Zero" became the newest No. 1 on the October 10 chart. It ended the long run of "Choosin' Texas" and gave Swift her fourth chart-topper of 2026.

Current hit playlists also feature songs that did not reach No. 1 but are everywhere this year. These include "So Easy (To Fall In Love)" by Olivia Dean, "RUNWAY" by Lady Gaga and Doechii, "PINKY UP" by KATSEYE and "Mr. Know It All" by Teddy Swims.
