CKSJ Coast 101.1 FM

Emerging on the airwaves of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, on February 12, 2004, Coast 101.1 FM swiftly established itself as a significant local broadcaster. Initially introduced with an adult contemporary format, the station evolved its programming in 2007 to embrace a classic hits sound, further refining it to Oldies-Classic Hits by 2011. Today, it primarily delivers a classic hits blend, featuring popular music from the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, alongside select tracks from the late 1960s and early 2000s. The station transmits on its flagship frequency of 101.1 MHz from St. John's, extending its reach across the Avalon Peninsula. To enhance reception for communities on the western side of Conception Bay North and along the Trans-Canada Highway between St. John's and Clarenville, Coast 101.1 FM also operates a rebroadcasting transmitter on 107.5 MHz in Clarenville. Listeners can tune into programs like "Mornings on the Coast with Bill & Carolyn," "Coast @ Work with Dana Parsons," and "The Coast Home with Tony Angelo" for local content and music. Specialty programming further diversifies its offering with "The '70s with Charlie Tuna" and "Cool Jazz on the Coast" hosted by Bill Sharpe.
