SWR1 Baden-Württemberg

High-power VHF transmitters distributed across southwest German topography feed the synchronous network distributing classic rock and pop audio alongside regional journalism. Transmission infrastructure utilizes frequency-modulated networks across regional relay points such as 89.8 FM in Freiburg im Breisgau and 90.9 FM in Baden-Baden, supplemented by DAB+ multiplexes covering the Rhine-Neckar and Black Forest regions. Content schedules balance decades of hit music with hourly informational segments, regional traffic reports, and long-form human-interest interviews like the personal profile series Neuanfang.

Annual schedule highlights feature the multi-day listener-voted Hitparade countdown, concluding with large-scale live finale events in major arenas like the Schleyerhalle in Stuttgart. Digital distribution reaches users via dedicated MP3 stream pipelines and ARD audio platforms alongside standard terrestrial frequency infrastructure.
