WDR 4

Eighties pop hits and twentieth-century mainstream classics dominate the daytime schedule across North Rhine-Westphalia, marking a distinct musical direction compared to conventional contemporary hit radio stations across Germany. Playlists feature prominent international artists such as Madonna, Queen, and ABBA alongside domestic figures like Herbert Grönemeyer.

Hourly transmissions incorporate targeted regional news reports covering districts from the Eifel and Rhineland to Münsterland and the Ruhr area. Morning schedules center on the flagship broadcast 'Guten Morgen mit WDR 4', presented by Katharina te Uhle between 06:00 and 10:00 with news updates, weather projections, and commuter travel bulletins. Listener voting drives periodic programming specials, most notably the 'TOP 444' countdown marathon highlighting favorite classic recordings chosen by regional audiences. The official station portal at wdr4.de tracks current titles and local cultural events. Terrestrial FM reception reaches Bielefeld on 101.3 FM and Düsseldorf on 101.7 FM.
